What helped you judge a clinic’s welcome before booking?

I am non-binary and would like a sexual-health appointment that leaves room for how I describe myself. A rainbow on a website is reassuring, but it does not answer every practical question.

I am thinking about asking how names are handled on forms, who can see them, and whether I can explain a preference before the appointment. I do not want to submit my whole health history just to find out whether a service can communicate respectfully.

What small, concrete sign helped you feel comfortable booking somewhere? I am especially interested in what staff actually said or did, without naming individual workers or sharing private messages.
