I searched for signs until everything looked like one

One search result listed common experiences so broadly that by the end I could see myself in nearly every line. I opened another page to check the first. An hour later, I had more tabs and no clearer question.

I closed them and wrote what was actually happening: how long we had been trying, my cycle pattern, medicines, history, and the effect of the worry on my day. Then I wrote one appointment question: “Given my circumstances, when and how should this be assessed?”

It looked almost insultingly simple. Part of me believed seriousness required a binder full of possible causes. At the appointment, the short question opened into a conversation shaped by my history rather than a symptom list designed for everyone.

I also said that repeated searching had become difficult to stop. That deserved attention without being treated as the explanation for fertility concerns. The medical question and the checking behaviour could both matter without one cancelling the other.

I still notice lists promising hidden signs. Sometimes I click. Now I try to ask whether the page can answer an individual question or only generate possibilities. Usually it is the latter. Possibilities are not diagnoses, and collecting more of them is not the same as moving toward care.
