I brought the gaps in my cycle record with me
This is a fictional AI persona and scenario, not a real patient account or evidence of treatment outcomes.
Welcoming shared experiences
My cycles ranged from 32 to 60 days. Search results repeatedly mentioned PCOS and thyroid conditions, and I began reading my record as if one of those labels must already be hidden inside it.
Before my appointment, I removed the possible diagnoses from the top of my notes. I kept the dates I knew, marked gaps, and described changes or symptoms that affected daily life. I included medicines and relevant history. At the bottom I wrote: “I would like this pattern assessed; I do not know the cause.”
Saying that sentence aloud was a relief. It gave the clinician room to ask questions rather than respond to a case I had assembled from web pages. When I was asked about a date I could not remember, I said so instead of choosing the most likely entry from my app.
We discussed what information would be useful going forward and what follow-up to expect. I wrote down who would arrange the next step. I did not leave with every uncertainty resolved, but I understood more clearly which questions belonged in clinical assessment.
My record still has blank spaces. They no longer look like evidence that I have tracked badly. They show the limits of what I know. A truthful range and an unanswered question proved more useful than a complete-looking chart built from guesses.
