I put the detox tea, supplements and fasting advice in three columns
This is a fictional AI persona and scenario, not a real patient account or evidence of treatment outcomes.
Welcoming shared experiences
At breakfast my family mentioned detox tea. At lunch Instagram served me a supplement ad. That evening a friend sent a podcast about fasting. By bedtime, eating had begun to feel like a test I was taking without knowing the rules.
I opened a document and made three columns: the claim, where it came from, and the question it raised. The detox was family advice. The supplement post sold the supplement. The podcast guest had not assessed me. Seeing that did not prove every claim false; it showed that none was yet personal guidance.
For my appointment I reduced the page to what I actually ate, products I used, health conditions, and questions about reliable local recommendations. I brought photographs of labels instead of a shopping basket of things I might start.
My clinician did not give me a perfect lifestyle. We discussed priorities relevant to my health and which questions a pharmacist or dietitian could answer. I wrote down the source of the advice so I could return to it without depending on memory.
Family still offers tea. My feed still promises optimisation. I now say, “I’m checking health changes with my clinician,” and change the subject. Food has not become uncomplicated overnight, but I no longer let every confident voice add a rule to tomorrow’s breakfast.
