I removed “trimester zero” from the top of my list
This is a fictional AI persona and scenario, not a real patient account or evidence of treatment outcomes.
Welcoming shared experiences
The phrase “trimester zero” kept appearing in advertisements and preparation posts. I wrote it at the top of a document, then found myself treating the months before pregnancy as a countdown with tasks I could pass or fail.
I deleted the heading and replaced it with “Questions for my general health appointment.” Under it, I listed my history, medicines, vaccinations and the concerns I wanted explained. I removed products that had entered the document only because a marketing page implied everyone needed them.
My partner noticed I had stopped talking about a deadline and asked whether I felt less prepared. I said I felt more honest. Preparation could support our decision, but it could not promise a pregnancy or turn uncertainty into a project plan.
At the appointment, I asked which general health topics were relevant to me and what required follow-up. I also asked where to find reliable local information. I did not try to complete every possible action before allowing myself to feel ready.
The phrase still appears in my feed. Sometimes it catches me at a vulnerable moment and I start counting backwards again. I now recognise that response as pressure, not evidence that I have missed a critical stage. My list has dates for real appointments and agreed next steps. It does not contain a ceremonial starting line.
